Animal Chiropractic care is safe for all species, Dr. Haak took the time and effort by taking an additional 210 hours of schooling and testing to get International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA) certified. He is one of less than 6,000 certified animal chiropractors. Chiropractic care is not a substitute for veterinary care but rather integrative with your primary veterinarian to take a holistic and natural approach to pet care. We highly encourage check- ups with your primary veterinarian, we want to work with them!
We correct and restore the nervous system connection by removing vertebral subluxation complexes (VSC), which is the same as in humans. However, animals need a more gentle touch. This improves motion and promotes the bodies innate healing. Your central nervous system controls and regulates all the systems within you body, restoring this connection can impact musculoskeletal, digestion, respiratory, cardiac, and more.
Based upon the case it may take 3 or more visits to see the body heal itself, so be patient! As part of the holistic animal care approach to your animal we may ask you the owner to demonstrate natural activities with the animal. Riders may have subluxations causing the animal to move abnormal or during training repetitive traumas can lead to changing their patterns. We want to find the underlying factors and not just mask them. Dr. Haak may recommend you as the owner to get adjusted by your chiropractor! Emergency situations may require immediate veterinary referral.
We take a little more time to get a care plan in place that is tailored to what the doctor thinks is best for your animal. During the consultation we may look to analyze gait, perform tests, ask for demonstrations, and evaluate symptoms. Choosing this natural and holistic pet care approach is following the understanding of human natural and holistic care. We understand how powerful the body can be with safe and effective care.
Animals have spines and joints, they need adjustments to feel better just like humans. Animals can have pain, discomfort, or compensations but communicate how they feel in very different ways. Assessing different factors will tell the doctor where to adjust and restore function within the nervous system. Increasing quality of life for your pet benefits the owner just as much.
We travel to you for patient comfort! It isn't always easy to get out of the house so we offer various times to meet so it works with your schedule. We ask that you have a routine when having a guest enter the home for smaller animals. Regular routines and proper training will ease the stress and save time.
